Hey, I'm João!

I've always been passionate by technology and audio and made it a career. I studied electrical engineering in Brazil (with a focus on electronics and DSP), moved to Montreal to do a master's degree in auditory modeling, and ended up working at MILA on one of the first neural speech synthesis models. I then spent 6 years at NVIDIA working on applications of AI to speech and audio, such as Riva, Fugatto, and Music Flamingo.

I am presently funemployed/on a sabbatical, but open to working on interesting and fun stuff!
